Oklahoma Mentor Training Schedule - 2008
This
year's mentor training and formation has been scheduled for Aug 14th
–16h at St. Crispin’s Episcopal Conference Center east of
Seminole,
Oklahoma
. Registration will begin at 2:00 on Thursday with the training
events beginning promptly at 3:00. We will end no later than
2:00
on Saturday.
Mentor
training is intensive (but rewarding!) work, requiring 18 contact hours. If you
cannot be there the entire time, please attend another Training Event.
The
training events offered this year are:
Basic/In-Service
Training:
for those who have been mentoring 2 years or less, or did not have an active
group last year.
In-service Training:
for active mentors whose last three events have been Formation events.
Common
Lessons:
To
examine in depth the Common Lessons used in EfM, with particular attention to
Lessons 3, 4, and 5. The event is designed to familiarize mentors with these
lessons, demonstrate the centrality of the Common Lessons to the program, and
increase the comfort of mentors in leading these lessons.
Design
Skills:
To
learn to design seminar sessions which meet a specific need in the mentor’s
particular seminar group, including guidelines for planning, administering, and
evaluating designs
Please call me or email me to find out if there is still
space and for a registration form.
